What is SOPA ?

School of Performing Arts provides an integrated learning programme that offers measurable improvements in the Communication Skills, Critical Thinking Skills and Creativity of the learner.

Our programme is child centred system of education which comprises of 4 Core elements:

• Physical
• Linguistic
• Cognitive
• Social Emotional

It ensures Learning by Inquiry. Every class is facilitated according to a creative process of learning through inquiry thus addressing to all kinds of learners. Performing Arts in Education is a practical approach that can be put to use naturally, with results which are visible and measurable. It integrates like a creative learning tool designed on an interdisciplinary approach using the medium of Drama. We have a wide experience in training children and teachers on communication skills using the medium of Performing Arts. We have worked closely with some of the best available and effective programs of the world. It is this experience that we intend to apply to a growing need for language learning and skill development.

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum encompasses a range of drama activities which are also suggested by NCERT and Cambridge. They are specifically designed to capture the imagination of children of all ages. Each activity is designed with a purpose. Constant participation in each activity produces the desired outcome. Activities are created to stimulate individual’s Creativity, whilst at the same time encouraging them to develop Poise, Personality, Confidence, Communicative Skills.
The curriculum caters to the following age group:

  • Reception : 3-5 years
  • Foundation : 6-8 years
  • Key Stage : 9-12 years
  • Young Leaders : 13-18 years

The child attends the class for 1 hour once a week. The programme is spread across 30 lessons in a year. The last mile and perhaps the most critical element in ensuring success is the regular weekly intervention with children.

CONCLUSION

School of Performing Arts links the child’s life at school to the life outside school, thus building a bridge between school, home and community. All students gain great benefits from our programme. Shy, introverted individual soon gain in confidence and are able to express themselves more fluently. Vivacious extroverts learn the importance of being able to focus their energy and enthusiasm into controlled situations so as to produce worthwhile results. School of Performing Arts is an endeavour to help Pre Schools and Schools further creative learning and achieve excellence in education.
